AWI on handhelds running Windows Mobile 6.5AWI (Portal/J 10.0.7 equivalent) running under Citrix XenApp accessed in browser mode. Problem with screen display. Appears that Citrix display panel is too large for handheld device and the AWI display doesn't fit well. Not positive about this, but the Citrix display size is defined at Citrix farm level, ie, it's the same for all applications launched on XenApp which means it's unlikely to be tailorable specifically for AWI. Older handheld devices, eg, Intermec CK3 with QVGA display running Windows Mobile 6.1, display AWI very well. AWI looks good and with the Citrix display it takes up the whole display. The user has a hard time to get to the Windows desktop. Best settings found for Windows Mobile 6.5: XenApp Settings. Window Size = Percentage of screen. Percentage of screen = 100%. See attached "XenApp settings % of screen=100". Need to try all &DisplayMode=2, 3, 4, 5 values suffixed on the AWI launch URL and describe differences. Reference page 10 of the AWI Install Guide. Launch AWI and the user is presented with Internet Explorer completely filling the Citrix display with the AWI logon chopped on the right side. See attached "AWI logon WM 6.5". User logs into AWI and clicks Inventory to see panel in attachment "AWI Inventory WM 6.5". Internet Explorer being in the background is a real problem. If the user clicks IE, uh oh, now IE is in the foregound and how to get back to AWI? One method is to use Citrix Gestures to maximize IE and right click past the top of the display hoping to activate the IE drop down list including "minimize" so IE can be minimized. Notice also that the Windows desktop is peeking through the bottom of the display under the Citrix display. See attachment "AWI browser mode desktop peeking through WM 6.5". The user clicks the Windows Start icon and they are into Windows. See attachment "AWI WM 6.5 user found Windows desktop".
