Our client is looking for a Software Programmer with 10 solid years experience. Requirements are a minimum of 5 years experience using COBOL compilers with MicroFocus/Merant COBOL v4. + integrated with PassPort in a UNIX/Oracle environment preferred.

In addition, the person must have experience using JAVA/JSP to support Portal/J. Our client is also looking for a technical Asset Suite, formally known as PassPort, developer with extensive experience in implementing, developing and maintaining Asset Suite release 6.01. The resource must have experience working with the various modules within Asset Suite such as Contracts/Purchasing, Inventory and Work Management. Also must possess proven skills and abilities in requirements gathering, fit-gap analysis and implementation practice demonstrated by thorough understanding of the delivered Asset Suite functionalities, its underlying business processes and capabilities. Experience working with Asset Suite Integration Framework Business Object and developing Service Oriented integration are required.

Skill Requirements:
Knowledge of and skill in applying
MicroFocus/Merant COBOL
Java 2 Platform Standard Edition v1.4
Ventyx Buy Demand Module for eCommerce
Ventyx IFBO and Web Services
Hands on experience with designing, developing and implementing web services security
Oracle 10+ or Microsoft SQL 2003+ database programming
Understanding of UNIX file systems, shells, utilities, scripting languages such as (c/k)sh, awk, and perl and UNIX application tuning on the Solaris 9 Operating System.

Sufficient to:
Develop integrations to implement eCommerce business processes
Develop web services using IFBO to integrate with third party and .net applications.
Design and implement web services security solutions
Develop and troubleshoot INDUS PassPort interfaces
Code, test, configure and maintain Portal/J using the software tools provided on Solaris platforms using Java and J2SE technology.
Develop and support Contracts/Purchasing, Inventory and Work Management modules.
Demonstrate ability to troubleshoot performance and interoperability problems between applications, servers and databases involving PassPort middle tier components including utilizing SQL language to verify database connectivity and performance.
Perform application/process management, install/patch applications, troubleshoot connectivity issues, monitor performance and tune in complex three-tier architectures (client web interface, application engine, database engine).

Carry out assigned tasks with a professional demeanor reflected in excellent written and oral communication skills, listening skills, patience, analytical reasoning and problem solving abilities
Ability to meet timelines, milestones, deliverables and provide timely (weekly) status updates
Communicate technical information verbally and in writing to technical and non-technical users
Provide a sustainable IT infrastructure by supplying cross training and functional documentation
Providing on-call and backup support for existing systems and functions. Required to carry a client supplied cell phone/pager and work non-core hours when requested
Understand and follow established processes and procedures including Change Management, Work Tracking and Time Management.
